New Metroid and Mario arriving before the holidays

Normally, publishers like to release big name titles in November and December to help catch those consumers looking to complete their holiday shopping lists. Nintendo has gone against the gaming grain, however, and announced that not one, but two of their main franchises will be hitting store shelves in the usually slow season of summer.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M were both announced by Greg Authorton at Nintendo Australia to have a release sometime between June and August and that both games would not be holiday releases. With the holiday slot wide open, hopefully a teen in a green tunic can find a way to fit in.
