Wii reaches the 10 million mark in Japan

Nintendo has sold over 10 million Wii consoles in Japan. 10, 009,736, to be precise.

That’s according to data from Famitsu publisher Enterbrain (thanks to a Kotaku translation), who also claim that Nintendo’s tiny white money maker took 170 weeks until Feb. 29 2010 to achieve that figure. Interestingly, the report also notes that the the PlayStation 2 reached 10m in sales much faster, in a mere 131 weeks. Which obviously makes the Wii crap.

Meanwhile, the PlayStation 3 has sold 4,766,408 units in Japan to date, while the Xbox 360 has sold about 10. Sorry, 1,235,049 units.
