After months of anticipation, the Independent Game Festival presented its awards ceremony on Thursday at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, with Pocketwatch Games’ co-op heist action game Monaco: What’s Yours Is Mine snatching top honors as the winner of the $20,000 Seumas McNally Grand Prize. Monaco‘s developers also made off with an award for Excellence in Design before the night was through.
Other IGF winners include Tyler Glaiel and Jon Schubbe’s Closure for Excellence in Audio and PlayDead’s silhouetted platformer Limbo which took home awards for Excellence in Visual Art and Technical Excellence. Developer Cactus was given the Nuovo Award for Innovation for his puzzle game Tuning and Spider: Secret of Bryce Manor won for Best Mobile Game.
