The Titan sections of God of War III (or review here) are easily some of the best parts of the game, combining mind blowing scale with frantic action that creates an experience rivaled only by the very best. We’d love to see more of them, and maybe, if we’re good, we will.
Stig Assmussen, director behind Kratos’ latest recently told Kotaku of the cuts the team had to make in order to give the rest of the game the time and attention it needed, “We had titan encounters in the game, we had a pretty big one planned for the end and we got pretty far with it it, but it was just one of those deals where we just had so much.” God of War III still features a range of Greek gods to slaughter, but it’s a shame we didn’t get to see more gigantic action.
Perhaps for DLC, then? “As far as DLC goes, it might be something we might think about getting out there someday,” Asmussen said. “The pieces are in place, the idea is written. If it’s something we put out there it would be something that would be free.”
For free? That’s super generous, especially when you consider how hard these sections must have been to create, “Those things required so many resources and they’re so hard to work on. It was literally the hardest thing I’ve ever been involved with before in my life and we just couldn’t do more. We couldn’t.”
Everyone cross your fingers then; more Kratos could be on the way.
