iPhone US games revenue overtakes PSP’s

The game revenue on the iPhone overtook the PSP’s last year, wouldn’t you know it. According to Flurry Analytics, who recently broke down public sales data for the US handheld gaming market, the iPhone was responsible for 5% of the $11 billion in revenue for handheld gaming devices in 2008 while the Nintendo DS held 75% and the PSP 20%.

In 2009 however, while revenue decreased to $9.9 billion, the iPhone held 19% of the pie while the PSP sat at 11% — a considerable beachhead, I’d say.
