DeathSpank creator Ron Gilbert has left developing studio Hothead Games, he informs via his personal blog (thanks, Rich). The title’s “creative and production phases” have ended and the “long and winding road of certification and testing” of the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and “[REDACTED]” (PC version making a comeback, perhaps?) versions has begun; “So, to quote my childhood hero George W. Bush: Mission Accomplished.”
The Monkey Island man is not done with his latest quite yet though. There’s still promoting to be done, and he’ll be “working closely” on that with Hothead and publisher EA as the release draws closer.
The title doesn’t have a release date yet. Just a vague ‘summer 2010’ window will have to do for now.
