Microsoft’s E3 Natal presentation left Heavy Rain creator “frustrated”

During last year’s E3, Microsoft’s Project Natal presentation left people thinking many different things — curious, intrigued, skeptical, and in the case of Heavy Rain creator David Cage, frustrated.

“I’ve seen Natal, and I’m really curious to see what they’re going to do with it. I was a bit frustrated that they presented it with a sci-fi-type presentation,” Cage said. “We are in the industry; we know what’s feasible and what’s not.”

Cage stated that he felt the scanning technology shown in the video is possible, but not to the same degree that Microsoft led gamers on.

“I thought it was a little bit lying to present it that way because it will let [consumers] think that they will [see] something that they are not really close to getting,” Cage said.
