Modern Warfare 2‘s Stimulus Package has enjoyed an incredibly successful launch on Xbox Live, destroying previous day one records with ease. That’s not the last we’ll hear of it though, Signal Hill analyst, Todd Greenwald predicts.
“This is an overwhelming response to an offering of 5 new multi-player map packs. By comparison, very few developers have been able to sell even 1 million downloads of DLC,” Greenwald said of the DLC, which sold well despite being priced at $15.
Considering that the content is yet to release on PlayStation 3 and PC, and that Activision has even more DLC up their sleeve for later in the year, Greenwald thinks Modern Warfare 2 add-on content could see as much as 10 million downloads by the end of the year.
“The rapid adoption of additional MW2 content speaks to the unprecedented demand for additional Call of Duty content, and expansion of multi-player action in the Modern Warfare 2 ecosystem,” he added.
