In the on again/off again saga of the Halo movie, rumors tend to fly like ammo from [insert weapon of choice here]. That’s something that Frank O’Conner, creative director at 343 Industries, tried to put an end to at last week’s MI6 Conference, telling the audience that a Halo-based movie will be made “when the time is right.”
“We own the IP. If we want to make a movie, the scale of all the other stuff that we do changes dramatically,” he said. “We make tens and tens of millions of dollars on ancillary stuff, toys, apparel, music and publishing. If we do a movie all of that will grow exponentially.”
Once the movie happens, “it changes everything,” he added, including the “target and age demographic”.
