Gears of War developer Epic Games won’t be making it official until Monday, but based on this just-revealed May Game Informer cover, we’re reasonably sure that Bulletstorm is the second game they’re announcing this month.
As seen from the artwork above, Bulletstorm involves shooting, action and a huge pile of mutated bad guys. In addition to the really big lead-dispenser in our hero’s left hand, he appears to be manning some kind of psychic rope with his right. An interesting weapon combination that we’re sure to hear more about in the coming months.
The game will be developed by People Can Fly, the fellows responsible for Painkiller and the PC version of Gears of War. Epic bought a majority stake in the studio soon after being demoed the project for the first time, so the company appears to have a whole lot of confidence that it can deliver its next hit IP. Epic has nothing new coming until 2011, so we’ll have plenty of time to speculate on that.
