Natural Selection 2 developers release engine test for pre-orders

In a world where pre-order incentives are rapidly gaining popularity, developer Unknown Worlds has released another interesting yet unusual perk for pre-ordering their upcoming Natural Selection 2. An engine test client of the shooter has been released and while a level editor has already been released to those who pre-ordered, the engine test build should greatly help with the development of the game.

The engine test is a method of measuring the various types of computers that are able to run the game. According to BigDownload, the build only contains a few maps where a few animated targets can be fired at and holds no actual gameplay from Natural Selection 2. Though it’s unusual for a developer to release an engine test build, it’s one of the many indicators that Natural Selection 2 is still actually out there and that the studio is ready to integrate its players into its development on the path to release.
