Too Human developer granted $4 million for ‘next-gen’ title

Too Human developer Silicon Knights has been granted $4 million from the Canadian government that will be put towards funding the studio’s next multiplatform project, The Tribune reports.

According to president Denis Dyack, the grant is going to benefit the studio in “profound and long-lasting” ways and will be used to immediately add 65 employees to the already 100+ strong studio.

“We are blown away and we’re happy with the support we’re getting,” he said. “It is something that couldn’t have come at a better time.”

As for the title in question, actual details are nonexistent. The company has been rumored to be working on something called The Box, and Dyack has called their next project “nothing like anything else we’ve ever made before,” but they’re keeping things under wraps for now.

“In our industry, you have to be very careful never to announce anything until the right time,” Dyack said. “We can only say it’s a next generation title and a high production value game. That’s all we can say.”
