Update: Make that three. Senior Animator Bruce Ferriz has also moved on and is now at Santa Monica-based Big Red Button Entertainment.
Original story: Modern Warfare developer Infinity Ward has lost two more longtime employees; designer Mackey McCandlish and veteran programmer Jon Shiring have both departed the studio.
“After almost 6 years at Infinity Ward, I resigned today,” Shiring wrote on Twitter last night. “I’m incredibly proud of everything we accomplished and I’m going to miss everyone.”
McCandlish, the lead designer on Modern Warfare 2, delivered his goodbyes via Facebook after having spent 8 years at the studio.
It’s not clear whether the men, along with previously departed lead designer Todd Alderman and lead software engineer Francesco Gigliotti, will end up at fired co-founders’ Jason West and Vince Zampella’s newly-formed, EA-backed Respawn Entertainment — a name that West thought of when playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2, by the way.
