Ubisoft still sorry about Assassin’s Creed II PC server outages, offers free bonus content for your troubles

Despite the Orwellian approach to copy protection, the $10 price hike, and the server outages that cause legitimate copies of the game to be rendered useless, I picked up Assassin’s Creed II on PC to flex my rig’s muscles. So far, I haven’t run into any problems, but that didn’t stop Ubisoft from sending me a little gift.

To make up for those pesky server crashes, Ubisoft has sent out codes via email to unlock a few additional missions. There are three total, with one involving the rescue of Lorenzo de Medici, another that has players racing against the clock through a church, and finally a stealth-based mission located at a shipyard. These little perks were already available in the digital Black Edition. No word yet on what those players may get.
