Bungie is expecting next month’s Halo: Reach multiplayer beta to reach three million users, community man Brian Jarrard has told the Seattle Times, predicting there’ll never be console beta conducted on this scale again.
“My expectation is it could be upwards of 3 million people,” Jarrard said, thinking that it’s “a fairly conservative estimate.”
“Certainly there will never be a console beta of this magnitude,” he added.
The beta, said to be more polished than a lot of finished games, will be accessible through last year’s Halo 3: ODST. “A huge chunk” of Reach‘s sandbox gameplay has been tucked in there, too, Jarrard has previously said.
It’s kicking off on May 3.
