Microsoft not worried about Bungie/Activision deal

Today’s Activision/Bungie bombshell marks a lot of things for the games industry, like the developer’s first non-Halo game in a decade, and a move to consoles other than the Xbox. Microsoft probably won’t be too happy about the latter part, now that the developer of their premiere game franchise, currently developing Halo Reach, is working with the guys who publish that other FPS.

But, their statement regarding the news gives the opposite impression; as a company spokesperson told CVG, “Our partnership with Bungie as a first-party developer for Xbox 360 remains unchanged, and right now we’re deeply engaged with them on the development of Halo Reach, which is poised to be the biggest game of 2010.”

Not an especially exciting quote then, but they do have a point; Bungie are still making a Halo game that’s coming only to Xbox 360, what else do you need?
