We’ve already played them in Rock Band. We’ve even played them in past Guitar Hero games, but if a recent survey delivered to Kotaku is to go by, that doesn’t seem to stop Activision from wanting to deliver yet another band-centric Guitar Hero game, this time with the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Just as with previous efforts – Van Halen, Metallica and Aerosmith – the game will highlight “the entirety of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ life, starting with their early days in LA, to their famous Hyde Park concert to their highly anticipated new studio album,” the survey notes. “Discover the story behind their legendary music as you unlock interviews, retrospectives, concert footage and other commentary.”
The survey also mentions, by their names, the albums By The Way, Californication, Give It Away and the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “upcoming studio album to be released in 2011.”
With the studios behind some of the Guitar Hero games and peripherals having been hit by lay-offs and completely shut down, let alone Activision’s own words on not publishing as many Hero games in 2010, it still shouldn’t surprise anyone that a new Guitar Hero game would be on the way. But, keep this one in the rumor box for now regardless…
