Activision “in discussions” over King’s Quest project

Old school adventure game enthusiasts got a severe case of the nostalgia blues when the fan creation The Silver Lining, a tribute/remake — depending on which side of the debate you fall on — of the PC classic King’s Quest, was shut down earlier this year. Thankfully, there might be a silver lining to this Silver Lining.

“Given the overwhelming community support for the Silver Lining project, Activision is in discussions with Phoenix Online Studios about allowing them to continue to finish the game and then release it to their fans,” Activision has said.

With everything that Activision has been going through this year, specifically the Infinity Ward debacle, they can use every good bit of news possible. Of course, it doesn’t hurt matters that a ton of gamers have a soft spot for those old Sierra games either.
