Blizzard today announced a partnership with Facebook to allow an integration between the two online powerhouses. The marriage of the two services will be tested on a small scale with the launch of the StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty beta test and will be available to all StarCraft II players once the game ships on July 27.
“This new functionality will make it easier than ever to connect with friends on Battle.net and play StarCraft II and future Blizzard Entertainment games together,” said Paul Sams, Blizzard’s chief operating officer.
During the early stages of the integration, StarCraft II players will only be able to add Blizzard gamers who are friends on Facebook to their Battle.net friend lists. Details about other features will be forthcoming.
