The story of the possible Alan Wake 2 has already been set in stone, developer Remedy’s head of franchise development Oskari Häkkinen has said.
“We do know where season two is going to go,” he’s told CVG, “..we know where we’re going to take the story.”
As Remedy has already stated many times, the first game, aka season one, has “a conclusive and satisfactory ending” but leaves the door open for another season. Whether or not that will actually happen though is to be determined by the first game’s sales; the Finnish developer is “betting the farm” on Alan Wake. If it doesn’t work out, they’ll be “selling hotdogs in Helsinki. Really.”
Between season episodes in the form of post-launch downloadable content are on their way either way however (first one free), with improvements in tow.
