Going by a recent FCC filing submitted by Nintendo and electronics manufacturer Mitsumi, the Nintendo 3DS may be going widescreen.
An image included in the filing (here) shows what looks to be a motherboard prototype with two screens attached to it, one of them widescreen. What’s shown is far from being a finalized product so chances are the retail product will sport dual widescreens.
Slots for DS cartridges as well as SD memory cards, both already included in current DS models, can be spotted as well.
The tentatively named 3DS will be unveiled at E3 next month.
