Sonic 4 Episode I has been delayed, Sega’s announced today. Originally scheduled for next month, the game’s release is now planned for “late 2010”.
The extra six months or so will give developers more time to ‘ensure higher overall quality’ of the product and allow them to “tune, balance, and maintain the kind of polish that an important title like this demands, and ultimately providing fans with an unrivalled classic Sonic feel,” the company writes on its blog.
In addition, the game’s been announced for Apple’s platforms.
“SEGA is also pleased to confirm that Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode I will be coming to the iPhone and iPod Touch via Apple’s iTunes App Store,” they say.
The game will also appear on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and WiiWare.
