Before Nathan Drake and Kratos burst onto the scene there was only one game that proved the power of the PS3: Killzone 2. Sony’s FPS blockbuster stormed the PS3 early last year and wowed gamers with its incredible graphics, but as soon as Uncharted 2 dropped; bringing lush jungles and blowing up trains, the PS3 had found its new visual triumph.
Killzone 3 is looking to turn the tide back in Guerrilla’s favor, company head Herman Hulst revealed to VG247 in a recent interview. Hulst was asked if the shooter sequel would raise the bar past Uncharted 2 and God of War III, to which he replied “We need to, right?
“That’s what we do. We talk to those guys a lot, both the Santa Monica team and the guys at Naughty Dog, and that’s the little game between us as friends of the studios. Yes, we do that, but then again they’re working on their next games and they’re going to have to do better again. So absolutely: we need to do that.”
But what could Killzone 3 possibly do to top God of War III’s jaw dropping titan battles? Guess we’ll have to wait until next year (maybe) to find out.
