The bottom line is this: Don’t expect 3D on your PSP anytime soon.
Speaking with IndustryGamers recently, Sony Worldwide Studios vice president Scott Rhode explained that Sony has no plans on integrating 3D technology in the company’s portable game device. SCE president Kaz Hirai also sounded off on the matter, saying, “Based off internally conducted research, naked-eye 3D for portables does not have high precision, and at present there are limitations.”
Moreover, both executives had nothing to say about a new PSP handheld release in the near future. All of this seems strange, especially considering that NIntendo’s 3DS was one of E3’s biggest hits this year.
