It seems like just yesterday we were up at midnight, waiting in lines that spanned across parking lots, losing sleep and missing work in order to be one of the first to pick up an Xbox 360 and/or PlayStation 3. But time flies when you’re getting headshots and, according to former Sony executive and current Capcom COO David Reeves, we’re well past the halfway mark for the current console generation.
Reeves further postulates that the next versions of our favorite gaming platforms will be hitting store shelves in the next two or three years. Says he, “I don’t have any inside information. All the first-parties have got to be working on something.”
While it’s all just conjecture right now, whenever Sony and Microsoft decide to release their new consoles, I have no doubt that I’ll be bumping into some of you in the inevitable midnight queues.
