We already know that a sequel is on the way for the turntable-based rhythm game DJ Hero, and we could assume that the first game did well enough to warrant that sequel. Today we can officially put that guesstimate to rest as Activision has released the most recent sales numbers for the game.
Despite the initial low sales figures at 123k in the US, the game’s sales picked up enough to push it beyond the 1.2 million mark. Activision CEO Bobby Kotick had some nice words: “I think DJ Hero is a really innovative product. I can’t wait for you to see next year’s…we’ll stick with it and get it right.” This is excellent news for those that enjoyed DJ Hero and are looking forward to DJ Hero 2 as it seems to have ample support behind it.
