Microsoft’s unveiling of the new Xbox 360 design surprised a lot of people at E3 2010 in June. A smaller, quieter, and sexier Xbox 360? Who saw that coming? But Microsoft also revealed a $199 Arcade version of the hardware for the budget-minded consumer. Unfortunately, the company didn’t say much about the product besides its existence…but Amazon now has.
Amazon’s German arm has listed an “Xbox 360 4 GB Arcade System Bundle,” and pegged it to release August 20. The listing says, as its name implies, that the console will come with 4 GB of memory. The listing did not provide further details on how the memory is to be stored.
Additionally, Amazon’s speculation says the bundle will cost €149, or about $189 USD.
The August 20 release date happens to be directly in the middle of this summer’s GamesCom convention happening in….you guessed it, Cologne, Germany.
