Rumors are flying as to what Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima’s next project will be. Recently, there’s been hints of an MGS5, and he’s been teasing a new entry in the Zone of The Enders series for what seems like years. And now, to add further confusion, Kojima Productions contributor and 5pb president Chiyomaru Shikura has confirmed that he is attached to a new project with Kojima, and the project in question is the third game in Kojima’s “conceptual science series”.
“Kojima told me that he wanted to make an adventure game. We’re at the still stage where we need to go to a secluded spot in the mountains and hash this project out, and thus, we don’t have any of the minute details hammered out.”
The obvious conclusion to draw is that Kojima is working on another game set in the Snatcher/Policenauts universe, but honestly, who knows at this point? For all we know, “conceptual science” could mean “solar sensor” and he’s making a new Boktai game. I’m still in the camp that would most like to see a new Zone of The Enders, but a new Policenauts could also mark the release of a localized downloadable version of Policenauts, which was never released in North America or Europe. I’m sure they’ll both figure that out on their holiday at the log cabin.
