For those of you in possession of the latest issue of Edge magazine, have you noticed the boldness in Codies’ chief game designer Matt Horsman’s words? Sure the premiere trailer of Dirt 3 was cool and all, but stating that it’s going to be “the biggest rally game ever made” might be pushing it a little too far… or is it?
According to Horsman, the third installment in the Colin McRae spin-off series will feature “snow and ice, dynamic weather, YouTube uploads, fierce rides and epic tracks, splitscreen support, party modes, an open-world playground and more real-life sponsors and stars than ever.”
A new career mode will exist, which will have you be a “privateer” in the 90’s and not going solo this time. You’ve got modern cars, classic cars, RAID trucks, buggies and over 100 miles of routes to race them on. And while you’re doing it, create a never-to-be-forgotten replay of your brutal crash… ehmm… awesome drift, and upload the action to YouTube through the more sleek, stylized and completely revamped menus, which are said to appeal more to Europeans than the “festive” ones used in Dirt 2.
Dirt 3 hits the road sometime in 2011.
