The wait continues for Nathan Drake’s fans. David O. Russell, distinguished director behind such flicks as I Heart Huckabee’s and Three Kings, will not be helming the big screen version of Drake’s Fortune.
Attached to the film project for several months, Russell has finally walked away after failing to reach an agreement with Sony Pictures. Moreover, no actors have been signed to play Drake or journalist fatale Elena Fisher.
Sony had been hoping to fast-track the film’s production with a targeted release date of summer 2011. With Russell out of the picture, it looks like we’ll have to wait even longer for this cinematic opus to be released.
