Just a few days after EA’s financial call revealed a “polishing” delay of their anticipated FPS sequel Crysis 2, Crytek continues to prove why they produce some of the best looking games around. The secret is attention to detail and experimentation, both of which take time.
The only thing known about Codename Kingdoms, their upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive, is based off a gameplay bereft live-action trailer – basically nothing then. Cevat Yerli, Crytek’s top dog, says that is a good position as he thinks “people will be quite surprised with what this game is about”.
“It’s quite different from what we have done in the past.”
It’s still the early days though: “We’re like 20 percent complete. It’s very, very early days,” Yerli continues. “We’re experimenting a lot with it; we’re trying a lot of cool ideas.”
“We know what we want to do with the game and the concept of what makes this game unique has improved and now we’re trying new things around this.”
