“Great” ideas going into Alan Wake 2, will remain 360 exclusive

Don’t worry, Remedy aren’t rushing themselves; despite confirming that they’re super positive for Alan Wake 2, the developer is quick to point out that “the [first] game just came out” and that they’re “still monitoring the main game.” Olus with DLC just released for and more coming later in the year, it’ll be a while before we see the writer’s next adventure.

Still, that doesn’t stop us from getting excited about it now, especially as Remedy are completely behind the project.

Oskari Häkkinen, the franchise development head with an awesome name has told Eurogamer that the team “don’t see any reason why we wouldn’t continue with Microsoft with a full-blown sequel for Alan Wake. We definitely want to do it. We have great ideas for it.”

Don’t expect the sequel to pop up on PlayStation 3 either, despite Remedy owning the IP. Speaking about the original game, Häkkinen said “Microsoft put a lot of beef behind the title for it to be an exclusive for the 360. They feel it’s an important title for their portfolio. It fits into their portfolio among other games like Gears of War, Halo and Forza. They think of their first-party games as a package and a portfolio for the 360. My understanding is we have a great fit in that portfolio as well.”
