Sledgehammer’s Call of Duty not all fiction

Some of the events to be seen in Call of Duty‘s yet-to-be-named  — we’ll just go with Call of Duty 8 for now — action-adventure off-shoot will be based on real life situations. That’s according to developer Sledgehammer Games’ bossman Glen Schofield who says the studio is taking notes from military types with stories to tell.

“Working w/ military guys- their stories will blow you away,” tweets the general manager. “Names/locations will change but some situations going in the game- real stuff!”

An earlier tweet touched on the game’s sounds as well; better audio than that of Schofield’s previous project, Dead Space, is promised: “Picking composers 4 the game. Fun stuff, think we found a great fit. Audio will b better than what we did on Dead Space.”

That adds two nuggets to the little pile of information available about the game then, right on top of it still being from the first-person perspective and having audience-broadening goals.
