When I woke up this morning, there was an odd tweet in my Twitter feed from Mikey Neumann, Creative Director at Gearbox, that stated simply, “Pre-emptive: No comment.” I didn’t think much about it, grabbed a coffee, and started scanning the latest news, that’s when I saw the reason behind his pre-emptive strike. Duke Nukem Forever is truly living up to its name and just refuses to die, and maybe that’s a good thing.
A source has revealed that development on Duke Nukem Forever has been resumed by Borderlands developer Gearbox Software. The studio is said to be beginning their work where 3D Realms had halted, leading to further rumors that a demo could be available before the year’s end.
As with every story like this, the ‘No Comment’ is standard fare from all points. However, Randy Pitchford, the company’s president, did say that they would be in a better position to clarify things at this year’s Penny Arcade Expo.
