UK charts: StarCraft II slips, Modern Warfare 2 surges

A few interesting changes on the UK’s all-formats sales chart this week; following a 72% drop in sales after last week’s number one debut, StarCraft II has landed on the fourth spot, putting Toy Story 3 back on top despite selling 25% less than the week prior.

The big surprise of the week however is Modern Warfare 2 which, after 9 months on the market, has managed to re-grab the second spot; a position it hasn’t reached since January. Data cruncher Chart-Track notes that the shooter’s PS3 version is to be thanked for the unexpected climb.

Modern Warfare 2 is now also dangerously close to passing the DS’s Dr Kawashima as the biggest unit seller in the UK. May even happen next week, they say.
