July NPDs: New Xbox 360 sales soar

Xbox 360’s North American performance in July — the first full month of availability of the new design unveiled at E3 in June — healthily outdid those of its competitors. Even the Wii and DS.

According to the latest NPD data, the Microsoft system sold a total of 443,500 units in the month, more than double of its main competitor PlayStation 3 which trailed the Nintendo systems with 214,500.
