Heavy Rain reaches 1.5m worldwide sales, now aims for 2m

After giving Heavy Rain a fairly cautious sales prediction of 1.5 million in total back in April, Quantic Dream founder David Cage has revealed that the title has already hit this target and is now making a run for 2 million copies sold by the end of the year.

Speaking at GDC Europe, Cage notes that this achievement is pretty awesome news for Sony, especially since the game has managed to retain its full RRP since launch. He didn’t go into detail about how the sales momentum of the current pricing is actually going, but it is very likely he is pinning his much hoped for 500,000+ more sales on Heavy Rain Move Edition which is due to appear pre-holiday season this year.
