Rock Band 3 adds more international acts

Standing atop the global perch of gamescom, MTV and Harmonix today revealed an expanded setlist of international acts for Rock Band 3. The global tour kicks off in the U.S. and Europe on Oct. 26 and 29, respectively.

The ten united nations of bands joining the 83-song soundtrack include:

  • Bob Marley & The Wailers, “Get Up, Stand Up” (Jamaica)
  • INXS, “Need You Tonight” (Australia)
  • Poni Hoax, “Antibodies” (France)
  • Rammstein, “Du Hast” in German (Germany)
  • Roxette, “The Look” (Sweden)
  • Tokio Hotel, “Humanoid” (Germany)
  • HIM, “Killing Loneliness” (Finland)
  • Maná, “Oye Mi Amor” in Spanish (Mexico)
  • Slipknot, “Before I Forget” (United States)
  • War, “Low Rider” (United States)

MTV Games’ SVP, Paul DeGooyer, stressed the importance of releasing more global acts, saying, “We believe music transcends boundaries, and intend to prove it with a committed effort to release more music from around the world on the Rock Band platform.”

Further stoking the international fire is the addition of three-part vocal harmonies and a keyboard peripheral to the classic guitar, bass, drums and solo vocals.

And nothing bridges borders more than slaying a keytar to the sweet croons of Roxette’s Swedish 80s pop. Everyone speaks that language.
