Homefront on PC handled by Digital Extremes

The PC version of THQ’s entry to the modern shooter fray, Homefront, is being handled by Canadian-based BioShock 2 multiplayer and Dark Sector developer Digital Extremes, the publisher’s announced.

According to the company, putting a dedicated developer on the mouse and keyboard version — along with some added bells whistles console gamers will miss out on — illustrates its commitment to “the demands of the discerning PC gamer,” as David Votypka, main developer Kaos Studios’ general manager, puts it.

Dedicated servers, clan support and added community features will be included, assures DE’s executive producer Frank De Lise; ‘features which are becoming increasingly rare’.

All versions — PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 — are expected to ship early next year.
