Move over, Tekken 6. Namco Bandai has dedicated its largest marketing budget for their forthcoming adventure Enslaved: Journey to the West; aggressive advertising campaigns are planned for both print and television mediums.
Namco appears to be putting a lot of faith into the title’s success. Says the company’s PR and marketing manager Lee Kirton, “We really want this title to stand out amongst the crowd as not just a brilliant gaming experience, but also as one of the greatest stories told within an interactive universe – if it doesn’t win awards then I’m going to eat my joypad.”
Based on the talent assembled, it seems that Kirton will not need to make any dangerous dietary decisions: Enslaved features writer Alex Garland of 28 Days Later fame, actor Andy Serkis (aka Gollum), and award-winning musician Nitin Sawhney.
Enslaved will be released in October; the 5th in North America and 8th in Europe.
