As the negotiations over the sale of troubled APB developer Realtime Worlds proceed, administrator Begbies Traynor — business rescue and restructuring specialist — has made public some figures which apparently show the MMO enjoying the highest average revenue per paying user “of any game out there”.
According to the short media blurb, ABP has attracted 130,000 registered players with the average player spending 4 hours per day in its gameworld. Paying customers average at spending $28 per month, “a combination of game time and user to user marketplace trading.”
Comments joint administrator Paul Dounis: “These are healthy numbers and reflect positively on APB as a ongoing concern. They prove this is a very enjoyable game, which is shown by the average player daily playtime and an ARPPU (Average Revenue per Paying User) that is highest of any game out there.”
It was discovered last week that the developer had hit on hard times and was forced to eliminate over 180 positions. It was later able to re-hire 23.
