Wrath of the Lich King heads to China

After having launched in the west back in late 2008, World of Warcraft‘s Wrath of the Lich King expansion has at last been cleared for launch in mainland China, Blizzard and operator NetEase have announced.

It will follow the release of The Burning Crusade, WoW’s first add-on, which only launched earlier this year.

Both expansions were held back due to the nature of some of their content; city raids and themes of the undead are apparently a no-no in the eyes of Chinese authorities.

However, it’s no been announced that the content has been green lit and will be available later this month, on August 31st.
