Acclaim is gone again. Or at least the reborn version of it is. The Acclaim we knew as a publisher in 90s went down in 2004, but the company’s IPs and name were sold off, which led to a reincarnation of Acclaim as a free-to-play service that once had 15 million registered users playing games like MMO 9Dragons and rhythm game RockFree.
But, unfortunately, it is no more. Check their website for info on reimbursing unused Acclaim Coins as well as in-game 9Dragons purchases.
For those who didn’t play any of the new Acclaim’s games, perhaps you can honor the old publisher’s memory by reflecting fondly on Turok, NFL Quarterback Club or even the old console version of NBA Jam.
