2K formally announces Borderlands GOTY edition

2K Games today formally announced a Game of the Year edition of Gearbox Software’s Borderlands.

Borderlands Game of the Year edition is exactly what GameStop said it was with a little bit of a twist. The new collection bundles the award-winning action role-playing game with every piece of already available downloadable content as well as a token to download the newly announced Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution when it hits.

It will be priced at $60 for Xbox 360 and PS3, and $50 for PC. It drops on October 12, and here’s what you get.

Zombie Island of Dr. NedMad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, a token to download the new DLC, and a new comprehensive Pandora map.

OK, if you’ve yet to play Borderlands, which is pretty inexcusable, this is an opportunity you absolutely should not miss.
