A month after its late July release, StarCraft II has reached 3 million copies sold, Blizzard’s announced today. At least, that’s what “internal company records, public data, and/or reports from key distribution partners” say.
That’s the third major milestone the game’s reached, the others being 1 million copies in 24 hours and 1.5 million in 48. Well on track for that predicted ‘6.5 million in 2010‘ mark, we’d say.
The mammoth RTS can also brag about being the fastest-selling game the genre’s ever seen as well as the biggest PC release of 2010; until World of Warcraft‘s Cataclysm expansion launches, that is.
