The Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII will indeed launch in Japan this December, Square Enix has confirmed, with added content to boot.
According to producer Yoshinori Kitase, the belated 360 game is dubbed Final Fantasy XIII Ultimate Hits Edition (the first of such releases for Square) and will include a post-completion quest named Episode I along with parts of the reportedly sizable content that ended up being cut from the game.
“We feel that there are…a lot of people in Japan who own nothing but 360s,” Kitase said on the decision. “Thanks to the new [Slim] system and such, the situation’s a lot different than it was in July 2008.”
At last count, the RPG had sold 5.55 million copies worldwide.
