Rage possibly headed to Android phones

id Software may be bringing its Rage property to Android phones.

An impressive looking tech demo of the shooter was shown off running on iPhone at QuakeCon last month where code man John Carmack announced that two games would see release on the system. Going by a recent job ad, Android phone owners may get in on the shooting fun as well.

The studio’s mobile division — currently “exploring the Android space” — is in search mode for “a talented and experienced programmer to help bring our next big Mobile game to the Android space,” reads a listing on Gamasutra (cheers, Verx). Rage isn’t specifically mentioned, but it’s a good guess at worst.

Details about the announced games remain thin though. It’s only known that the first game, due out this year, will be a smaller offering while the second, a larger undertaking, will coincide with the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation versions’ release next September.
