Valve has stealthily added a Wallet service to Steam over this past weekend, allowing users to now pre-fund their account much like Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.
The account balance can be added to $5, $10, $25, $50 or $100 at a time (or whatever the equivalent currency in your region), which can then be used to purchase content from the digital distribution service, be it a game or add-on content.
Going by the terms of agreement, funds can be added “by credit card, prepaid card, promotional code, or any other payment method accepted by Steam,” and up to a max amount determined by Valve.
Gifting funds appears out of the question though; “Funds added to the Steam Wallet are non-refundable and non-transferable.”
