Good Old Games has updated its website with a more reassuring message to make up for the confusion it’s created.
The digital distributor shut its doors without warning over the weekend, saying it “simply cannot remain in its current form” but that “this doesn’t mean the idea behind GOG.com is gone forever.”
Now, it’s elaborated that the sudden closure of the service occurred due to “business and technical reasons.”
The service’s customers are guaranteed to be able to download “all their games with bonus materials, DRM-free and as many times as they need starting this Thursday.”
GOG’s management is expected to clarify just what’s going on during an online press conference tomorrow. In the meanwhile, they’ve released a ‘thanks for being with us’ video, catch it below.
