F1 2010 hits retail shelves this week for PS3 and Xbox 360, but for PC gamers it’s available via digital download only. That’s unless you live in the UK and pre-order a copy before Friday, Sept. 24. Then you get to bask in that that nostalgic fresh out of the box scent.
A Codemasters spokesperson described the digital-only decision to Eurogamer as “UK specific and appropriate to market observations of boxed versus digital distribution of PC titles. And it follows the game’s US release, which is exclusively digital on PC.”
Codemasters’ explanation of “market observations” to echoes recent NPD estimates that show digital download sales of PC games far outpacing its brick-and-mortar counterparts.
So what say you faithful TVGB readers? Is this “appropriate” for how you’d like to purchase PC games?
